On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, the CORE School Advisory panel and district leaders interviewed qualified candidates for the principal of the CORE School at Morningside. After careful consideration of each candidate, Mrs. Jennifer Martyn has been selected to lead the newly proposed school.
The GFPS CORE School is an innovative elementary school that will open in the fall of 2024. This school will combine integrated and experiential K-6 education with an immersive teacher preparation program in partnership with the University of Montana-Western and GFCMSU.
Mrs. Martyn has served students and families at Great Falls Public Schools as principal of Mountain View Elementary School for the past five school years. Prior to her tenure in Great Falls, Jennifer had a wide range of teaching and administrative experiences working with students from pre-kindergarten through post-secondary in Ohio and Washington. Additionally, she brings experience in lab schools and implementation of a choice school program. Her leadership and experiences will serve the CORE School students and community well.
