Information & Understandings about GFPS Virtual Academy
Please read this information before clicking on the registration button at the bottom. If there are any questions, please return to the main page or ask before registering.
Virtual Academy runs from June 10 until July 31, 2024. Courses may require face-to-face sessions and all courses will require the district assessment to be taken IN PERSON. Students who will be gone for extended periods during the course timeline should NOT register unless they have consistent Internet access and the ability to work on the course daily during their absence.
We want EVERY student to be successful. Students should look over the list below and be sure most items are true for them. The more items that are true, the better your chances of being successful in an online class.
HEALTH & PE NOTES:
SAVE THE DATE – ORIENTATION SESSIONS
The mandatory orientation sessions, both starting in the CMR auditorium, will familiarize students with the computer-based course format. They will also meet with their course-specific instructors for vital information and practice working in the online environment and within their specific virtual classrooms. Students must plan to attend ONE of the two sessions:
Tuesday, June 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. OR Wednesday, June 5 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
PAYMENT METHODS
All payment methods are listed here. Most courses must be paid in full by the registration deadline of June 5, 2024 (Exception: HPE courses always fill and have a waiting list. Because of this, all HPE fees must be paid within 48 hours of registration to secure a place in the class.) In order to pay at one of the high school finance offices or by mail, this form must be filled out.

HEALTH & PE NOTES:
- Health and PE are required courses for freshmen (Health 1-2 and PE 1-2) and sophomores (Health 3-4 and PE 3-4).
- Due to the way Health and PE are scheduled (on an every-other-day rotation), students taking the courses in the summer MUST take BOTH Health and PE.
- As with all courses, Health and PE have limited enrollment numbers due to the number of students one teacher can teach at a time. It is recommended that registration and payment be done early as the seats will fill in 10-15 minutes from the start of registration. HPE courses always fill and have a waiting list. Because of this, all HPE fees must be paid within 48 hours of registration to secure a place in the class.
- Once those classes are full, students are welcome to put their names on the waiting list in case of cancellations.
