How to File: School District Trustee Filing Timeline
There are currently three, three-year terms on the District School Board that are expiring. Any individuals who are interested in running must file a Declaration of Intent and Oath of Candidacy with the County Elections Office. This office is located at 325 2nd Ave North, Great Falls. The filing date to do this is December 8, 2016 through March 23, 2017. Candidates must report campaign expenditures to the Montana Commissioner of Political Practices.
Trustee Resolution Calling for an Election
The Board approved the Resolution Calling for a School Election to be held on May 2, 2017, on February 13, 2017, at the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees. The purpose of the election is to elect three (3) trustees for three-year terms, or as otherwise designated. Approve of additional levies to operate and maintain the General Fund and Technology Fund for FY 2018 will also be requested. The levy amounts, if any, for the General Fund and Technology Fund need to be decided and approved by March 31, 2017.
Close of Registration
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that registration for the School District #1 and A, 5&29AA, 55&F, #74, & #85 to be held on May 2, 2017, will close at 5:00 p.m., on April 3, 2017.
All active and inactive electors residing within the School Districts are entitled to vote at said election.
Persons who wish to register and who are not presently registered may do so by requesting a form for registration by mail or by appearing before the County Election Administrator. Inactive electors may reactivate by appearing at the Cascade County Elections Office to reactivate.
If you have moved, it is necessary to have your registration transferred to your present address.
