Strategic Planning

 SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE
STRATEGIC PLANNING

A famous businessman by the name of Paul J. Meyer said, “Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.”

GFPS is committed to excellence! Our work is focused on one thing: All kids engaged in learning today…for life tomorrow. Our belief statements, vision and mission (http://www.gfps.k12.mt.us/content/mission) underscore this point. Take a moment to refresh your memory regarding what we are about, what we value and how we do business. Thank you for your commitment to excellence!

GFPS employees and students put forth focused effort! The many achievements and accomplishments of students and staff just couldn’t happen without it! The determination, grit and resolve that you and students demonstrate each day makes a difference. Thank you!

GFPS believes in intelligent planning. Last summer, we set forth a strategic plan. It can be found at: http://www.gfps.k12.mt.us/content/about-us. I talked about it at Convocation and in my welcoming message to you: http://www.gfps.k12.mt.us/newsbits/august-26-2013. I have shared it with countless community members this year as I talk about “Our Kids, Our Future and Our Community”. This plan guides the work of all of us. I am in the process of renewing it with the Board. If you have thoughts about how to improve the strategic plan, please let me know by March 31. Through continuous improvement processes we continue to get better.

Strategic plans need resources. As you have probably heard, the Board has set forth a levy request for $1.6 million. Most of the levy is to provide resources for the strategic plan. Take a moment to learn more about the levy request: http://www.gfps.k12.mt.us/2014election. I see this request being perfectly in line with Mr. Meyer’s thinking: commitment to excellence, intelligent planning and a focused effort. Thank you for being a part of it.

Take care. Be safe. Stay well.
Tammy
