BEING A PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER THAN OURSELVES
Through the basic act of working for an organization such as GFPS, you are part of something bigger than yourself. By coming to work each day and joining with your colleagues in delivering this most important thing, education, you are part of something bigger than yourself. By living in Great Falls and in the United States of America, you are part of something bigger than yourself. As we participate in our world, we are givers and takers of resources. I am grateful for all I receive and for the ability to give. It feels good to take a moment to be thankful that we don’t exist in isolation.
As I contemplate this important concept, I ask that you give a little bit more in the next few weeks as we progress through election season. (See last week’s message for more about that: http://www.gfps.k12.mt.us/newsbits/march-31-2014) I ask that you give a little bit more in two ways:
1. Please make sure that you and others are registered to vote. It only takes a moment and it ensures that you can be part of something bigger than yourself: a democracy. See related article in Newsbits. Today is the deadline.
2. Come join me on Tuesday, April 15 at 4:15 in the PGEC Cafeteria to enjoy a root beer float as I talk about the details of the levy. I will make a short presentation followed by Q & A. Being “in the know” about the budget of GFPS ensures that you can help others be part of GFPS as well.
In return, I give you my thanks. Please know that I am grateful for each of you and for what you do for our kids, our community and our future.
Take care. Be safe. Stay well.
