A Fresh Start!

 A Fresh Start!

Dear Staff,
Here we go: a fresh start! Education is one of the few professions where the participants get one every year. That fresh start provides for so much excitement and anticipation, but most of all, it provides for opportunity: the opportunity to do our work better than we have ever done it before, the opportunity to try new things, the opportunity to create a new personal best. No wonder this is such an exciting time! When opportunity knocks, we’re ready to open the door.
As Cabinet and I envisioned this new year, we conceptualized an ACES framework to help us be ready for the opportunities that await the District. We promise to be:
      1. Accountable & Accessible. We will take responsibility for our decisions and actions and we will be available to our community.
      2. Committed. We will be loyal to our school district and dedicated to its vision and mission.
      3. Engaged. We will put our attention towards our strategic plan and all the other important work that must take place in a first class school district.
      4. Servicing. We will provide assistance to those who need it and offer outstanding attention to our constituents.
We call these our “aces in the hole.” They are expected to keep us ready and open when fresh opportunities arise for GFPS!
Speaking of fresh, a big thank you to the buildings and grounds crew as they worked all summer to make our schools fresh and beautiful—inside and out! I also appreciate all the staff members who attended training this summer to freshen skills and hone knowledge that will serve our students and district well. Also, please know that the rest of the support team has been busy this summer hiring staff, securing resources, and preparing for what is going to be a great year!
I look forward to seeing all of you throughout the year as I visit buildings and classrooms. When I stop in, please do not feel like you have to stop what you are doing. I am just there to watch with admiration as you provide a world class education to the students of Great Falls. Here’s to the next 187 days of magic!

Take care. Be safe. Stay well.
Tammy
