The 4th of July Parade

GFPS AND THE 4TH OF JULY!
All GFPS employees and family members are invited to show our community spirit
as we walk together and hand out pencils in the 4th of July parade!
Wear your school logo shirt and come join in the fun and patriotism!
We will be walking with the GFPS High School Patriot Band.
The parade starts at 11:00.  Line-up at 10:30
in Whittier Park next to the Civic Center.

Employee Wellness Survey—Share Your Thoughts!
Every couple of years the GFPS Employee Wellness Team sends out a quick 3 minute survey to gather information about wellness in our district. We will begin planning for the 2017-18 school year very soon and your input is important. The survey will be available the next 3 weeks in Wellness Wednesday as well as on the GFPS Employee Wellness website. Thanks in advance for taking the survey! Click here for the survey.  

Get Fit Great Falls - National Trails Day

Looking to jumpstart your summer?  Take a hike with Get Fit Great Falls on Saturday, June 3rdGet Fit Great Falls is offering 22 hikes that day and all hikes depart at staggered times from Gibson Park Bandshell.  The hikes are FREE, but pre-registration is required.  Go to www.getfitgreatfalls.com/hikes, click on the banner at the top of the page, then select a hike that meets your physical conditioning and timeframe.  Some hikes are already full, others still have openings:
  • Clary Couleehike to great views on the Rocky Mountain Front with BLM Ranger Travis Rixford
  • Historic Field Trip to Captain Meriwether Lewis’ Camp Disappointmentand the Fight Site with local historical Larry Epstein
  • Wildflower walk into the South Fork of the Judith Riverin the Little Belt Mts with botanist, Wayne Phillips
  • Fun, short hike along the River’s Edge Trail (departing directly on foot from Gibson Park) to West Bank Parkwith Erin and Derrick Merchant
  • Lovely riverside walk to historic Sulphur Spring, healing waters for Sacagawea, with Forest Service Rangers, Ray Tetreault and Darian Kath  
  • Mountaintop climb to Arrow and Lava Peaksin the Highwood Mts with backcountry expert, Dave Schuler
  • All-Women’s hiketo the top of Crown Butte(outside Cascade) with local expert Ida Johnson and Mary Somerfeld
  • Kiddo Playdatewalk with your little tikes (directly on foot from Gibson Park) for fun and games along the trail with educator Cramer Caouette
  • Kiddo and Grownupshike for young hikers along a little know route of the River’s Edge Trail with educators Bonnie and Shirley
There are more hikes, too, but register soon the spaces are filling fast!

Can’t take a hike, then visit the information booths in Gibson Park (from 7:30 am – Noon) and learn about the parks and trails in our area.  Free prizes and give away gifts while they last.  Try the new Get Fit Great Falls APP and become eligible for a paddleboard & paddle or a year’s membership to The Peak!  Yoga instruction from 10:30 am – Noon and guided activity walks around Gibson Park loop to get your 1.3 mile hike from town.

In-District Teacher Transfers, May 22, 2017

In-District Teacher Transfer Information

Current openings will close on Thursday, May 25, 2017.  Check the on-line application system (Applitrack Link To In-District Job Postings) for a list of all current openings.  If you are interested in applying for these openings please hand-deliver your In-District Transfer Form to the Human Resources Office to meet the deadline. 

Fall Print and Graphics Orders

Fall Print and Graphic Orders 2017-2018 School Year

All Fall orders need to be titled as "Fall" for the due date. That is for both the Print Center orders and Graphic orders.

Graphic orders for the 2017-2018 school year that must be created need to be submitted no later than June 30th. Any submissions beyond then may not be returned until approximately early October. Please try to prepare for the new school year early so we can get your orders done on time. These orders may be sent in starting now.

Fall Print orders CAN NOT be submitted electronically. With having such a high volume of orders for the fall, we do not want to risk any orders being lost in the system. If you have any questions or concerns please call 268-6051.

The PIR catalog of classes is now online. Please sign up for at least 18 hours of classes (unless part time), and don't forget to enroll in the appropriate District-Directed course, based on the letter you received.

After 25 years in Great Falls Public Schools, Sandy Houston is retiring!  To help her celebrate her next adventure in life, please join us in the Morningside library on Thursday, June 1 from 4:00-5:00 PM.  There will be cake and lemonade to enjoy.  We hope you can come to say goodbye and wish Sandy well.  She will truly be missed!
