Native American Resource Library: The Native American Resource Library which is located in the Longfellow Elementary School building was developed to:
- Provide accurate and current materials about the tribes of Montana.
- Provide positive and accurate information about American Indians of the United States.
- Assist teachers in developing lessons and units that incorporate Native American culture and history into their classrooms.
- Develop cross-cultural appreciation and understanding within the educational system.
- Assist the School to Home Facilitators and other school district personnel in effectively assisting the Native American students enrolled in Great Falls Public Schools.
- Provide classroom presentations, instructional assistance and storytelling.
- Identify resource persons for cultural presentations.
- Assist the public in the use of library materials.
The collection of materials in the Native American Resource Library includes: books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, posters, maps, teaching aides, bibliographies, reservation newspapers, artifacts and models. The library is open to the public, teachers and students.
