4 points Solves the problem correctly and the solution shows a deep understanding of the problem including mathematically correct vocabulary.

3 points Solves the problem correctly or makes a single computational error. Some inferences may have to be made about the procedure.

2 points Solves some of the problem correctly and inferences had to be made about the procedure.

1 point Not able to solve the problem and does not give an explanation

8 point Performance Assessment (K – grade 5)

7/8 points Solves the problem correctly and the solution shows a deep understanding of the problem including mathematically correct vocabulary.

5/6 points Solves the problem correctly or makes a single computational error. Some inferences may have to be made about the procedure.

3/4 points Solves some of the problem correctly and inferences had to be made about the procedure.

1/2 points Not able to solve the problem and does not give an explanation
