IMPLEMENTATION
The
Board of Trustees has adopted the Full
Options Science System (FOSS) for the
purpose of implementing the Science curriculum.
This program aligns with our district benchmarks, providing Scientific
Inquiry and Exploration for students across grade levels. It provides opportunities for students to be
active scientific learners; exploring, observing and predicting.
ASSESSMENT
Sixth grade students will participate in an objective content assessment at the end of each module. Additionally students will participate in a process skills assessment during/after each module. These assessments are aligned directly with the state and district standards.
The suggested time line is found in the 9x4 Implementation Guide below. Modules for this grade level are as follows:
