Assessment/Implementation Statement

Grade 5

IMPLEMENTATION

The Board of Trustees has adopted the Full Options Science System (FOSS) for the purpose of implementing the Science curriculum.  This program aligns with our district benchmarks, providing Scientific Inquiry and Exploration for students across grade levels.  It provides opportunities for students to be active scientific learners; exploring, observing and predicting.

ASSESSMENT

Fifth grade students will participate in an objective content assessment at the end of each module.  Additionally students will participate in a process skills assessment during/after each module.  These assessments are aligned directly with the state and district standards.
