Assessment

The assessment components for grade 3 include the use of text-based, criterion-referenced tests and performance based assessments which measure the learning objectives found in the GFPS Curriculum Guide. There are six unit tests that are designed to measure student understanding of social studies concepts.  The performance assessments in units three, four, and six are designed to measure student’s ability to apply factual knowledge and scientific concepts to a realistic problem or task. The scoring criteria on the performance rubric is located prior to the instructions for each performance assessment on the unit tests.  Each student’s score will be recorded on the LXR card in section four.

On the performance assessment activities, a score of three or four would be considered satisfactory. A score of 70 percent is considered satisfactory.  LXR scores will be used for the Status of Education Report.
