Implementation

The Board of Trustees adopted Nystrom materials for the purpose of implementing the Social Studies curriculum. The 2^nd Grade Social Studies Implementation Guide contains a Quick Reference Checklist of content standards, a community resource list, a list of Scholastic Literacy Place benchmark correlations, and supplementary instructional materials.

Assessment

The assessment component for grade 2 includes the Quick Reference Checklist at the beginning of the 2^nd Grade Social Studies Implementation Guide. The teacher is responsible for covering the benchmarks within each content standard.

LXR tests are not required, however, it is the teacher’s responsibility to determine if a student is at an awareness level in vocabulary and concepts.
